[b 28 Feb. 1821 at Chautauqua Co., NY; d 18 Apr. 1905 at Bethel, Branch Co., MI] Collins Fenner m Lucinda Jane Myers [b 11 Aug. 1824; d 17 Oct. 1906] on 8 Jan. 1841. Collins moved to Snow Prairie, Branch Co., MI in the fall of 1847, after the birth of Corydon. He built a log cabin to the south of US 12 between Bronson and Coldwater, Michigan. At the time the cabin was built, the highway was just an indian trail between Detroit and Chicago. His wife and two children came in the spring of 1848 to this cabin in the wilderness. Lucinda organized the first Sunday School in Branch County.

  2. Corydon Malcon [b 14 Sept. 1847 at Ripley, NY; d 19 March 1927 at Bethel, MI] m Emma Buck.

  3. Phoebe Fidelis [b 27 Oct. 1851 at Bethel, MI; d 25 Sept. 1892 at Bethel, MI] m Philo A. Buck.

  4. Calista Lucinda [b 12 Dec. 1854 at Bethel, MI; d 6 May 1934 at Ovid, MI] m Charles Herman Russell [b Mar. 1853 in MI] at Coldwater, MI, on 2 July 1874. They had Alnora T. (“Nora”) Russell [b 20 Oct 1875 at Ovid., MI; d 5 Jan. 1935 at Ovid, MI] and Carl Fenner Russell [b 12 Mar. 1885 at Ovid, MI] who m Florence Cutler in 1904.

  5. Charles Collins [b 18 Aug. 1858 at Bethel, MI; d 3 Aug. 1923] m Emma Norton.

  6. Mary [b 5 May 1866 at Bethel, MI; d 8 Feb. 1933 at Los Angeles, CA] m 1st George W. Fowler [b 7 Mar. 1861 at Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI; d 31 Dec. 1924 at Glasgow, Valley Co., MT; bur Bethel, MI] on 30 Dec. 1885 at Bethel, MI. Family lore says Mary was “ten parts crazy,” so George escaped to Montana to get away from her. After George’s death, she m 2nd Lyman Palmateer [b ca. 1863 in MI; d 6 Feb. 1933 in Los Angeles, CA] on 24 Jan. 1928 in Los Angeles, CA; apparently she agitated him too. Mary was bludgeoned to death by Lyman, who then shot himself. He left a note saying he was despondent over ill health and marital troubles. Lyman had previously m 1st Evelyn Beard on 16 Oct. 1889 in Bethel, MI; he m 2nd Jennie B. Buell [b 1864; d 4 Apr 1927 in Los Angeles, CA] on 18 Oct. 1898.
