Richard Fenner

 

[b 1718; d 17 Feb. 1799 in his 81st yr.] Richard Jr. was a lieutenant in the Revolution. He was major of the First Regiment of Militia in the county of Providence and was commissioned lieutenant-colonel of the same regiment in May of 1779. Richard m Elizabeth Arnold [b 9 June 1721 at Warwick, RI; d 2 May 1774 at Johnston, RI], daughter of James Arnold and Elizabeth Rhodes. Richard m 2nd Amey — after 1774.

  1. Sarah [b ca. Mar. 1742; d 7 Sept. 1777] married twice.

  2. Elizabeth [b ca. 1744; d 2 Oct. 1824 in her 81st yr] m William Rhodes.

  3. Abigail [d 7 Jan. 1812] m James Sheldon [d 19 Aug. 1806, age 62] on 27 Apr. 1765.

  4. Rhodes [b 1750; d 1796] m Lydia Battey.

  5. James [b ca. 1751; d 26 Sept. 1814 in his 64th yr.] m Tabitha Thomas.

  6. Anna [b ca. 1752; d 3 Jan. 1818, age 65] m Elisha Angell [b 22 Feb. 1757; d 28 April 1838 in his 83rd yr.] on 24 August 1783.

  7. Col. Richard [b 21 Aug. 1753; d 30 Sept. 1842] m Sarah Manchester.

  8. Arnold [b 1756; d 9 Aug. 1796 at Johnston, RI, killed by lightning] m Amey Waterman, daughter of Sarah Fenner and John Waterman. They had Lydia [b 27 Mar. 1782; d 12 Sept. 1810 at Greenville, RI] who m Thomas Waterman [1781–1848], Joseph W. [b 4 Nov. 1784], Sarah [b 12 Mar. 1790], and Arnold [b 21 Mar. 1794].

  9. Mercy [b 22 Feb. 1757; d 17 July 1820] m Isaac Fiske [b 15 June 1757; d 17 June 1824].

  10. Barbara [b ca. 1759; d 6 Apr. 1812, age 53] m Colonel Samuel Slack [b ca. 1759; d 3 Feb. 1789, age 30], a Revolutionary soldier.

  11. Freelove [b ca. 1760; d 26 Jan. 1831, age 71] m Stephen Taylor.
