Descendants of Captain Arthur Fenner

William Fenner

 

[b 20 Jan. 1767 at Cranston, RI; d 11 Aug. 1839 age 72 at Fairfield, NY] William was born in a portion of Cranston, Rhode Island, which later became Smithfield. His family moved to Adams, MA, ca. 1769. At age 16, he married Asenith Jenks [b 1765; d 1802]. William was in Shay’s Rebellion (1786–1787) while at Adams, MA. He and the entire family, except for his sister Phebe, moved to Fairfield, Herkimer Co., NY, in the 1790s. He m 2nd Patience — [b 24 Feb. 1769 at Swansea, MA; d 19 Mar. 1841 in Fairfield, NY] on 26 May 1803 in Fairfield. He died at Fairfield and was buried in the Eatonville Cemetery with his mother, father, and Patience.

  1. John [b 17 Mar. 1784 at Adams, MA; d 7 Aug 1847 at Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY] m Abigail Chase.

  2. Joseph [b 14 May 1785 at Adams, MA; d 30 Mar. 1869] m Betsy Cabot.

  3. Nathaniel [b 28 Dec. 1787 at Adams, MA; d 19 Dec. 1851] m Rachel Robinson.

  4. Fabritha. Her father’s will named her Fabritha Tucker, while her children’s names are Mason. Apparently Fabritha had children with a man named Mason, was widowed, then married a man named Tucker. Her children were Collins, Warren, George, William, Asenath, Lucy, and Louisa. Asenath m — Moore.

  5. Lucinda; unmarried.

  6. William [b Sept. 1796; d 22 Oct. 1861] m Mariah Grimes.

  7. Malinda; m — Nelson.

Child by William & Patience:

  1. Calvin [b 14 Aug. 1804 at Fairfield, NY; d 12 Dec. 1895] m Rhoda Ann Harvey.
