[b 1863 at Frederiksted, St. Croix, Danish West Indies; d 1935 at Denver, CO] John Joseph Fenner m 1st Frances (a.k.a. Alicia) Jane — [b 1870 at Tortola, British Virgin Islands; d 1963 at Denver, CO]. They emigrated from St. Croix to the U.S. in October 1913, headed to Chicago. In 1920, they were living in Chicago. In 1930, John and Frances were living in Denver, CO, with daughter Helen.

  1. Thomas McGregor (or Aubrey) [b 13 July 1887 at Frederiksted, St. Croix, Danish West Indies; d 19 Sept. 1956 at Denver, CO] emigrated to the U.S. in 1908 and made his way to Bloomfield, Polk Co., Iowa, where he m 1st — after 1910 and had Lola Fern [b 1912 in Des Moines, IA]. They moved to Chicago before Thomas registered for the WWI draft. Thomas m 2nd Edith Janet Pratt [b 1890 in IA; d 1942] on 24 Sept. 1921 in Chicago. Thomas, Edith, and Lola were in Chicago in 1930. They moved to Denver before 1942. Thomas and Edith are buried in Boone, IA. Lola m Consuelo Cruz of the Philippines.

  2. Lola Hatfield [b ca. 1890 St. Croix, Danish West Indies; bur. 11 June 1909 at Frederiksted, St. Croix, Danish West Indies]. Her burial was recorded by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

[b 24 Feb. 1891 at St. Croix, Danish West Indies; d 19 Sept. 1967 at Denver, CO] John Clinton Fenner was considered a citizen of Denmark at birth; the Danish West Indies were acquired by the United States in 1917 and became the Virgin Islands. In the 1901 census in St. Croix, he was listed as Clinton McLean Fenner. He emigrated through Ellis Island, NY, on 4 Oct. 1910 as John C. Fenner, with a stated destination of Brooklyn. When John enlisted for WWI on 24 June 1918, he was living in Chicago, single, working as a casket trimmer for F.H. Hill Co. He served in Company E, 321st Infantry, and was discharged on 27 June 1919.

John m Esther Amelia Larsen [b 1 Jan. 1905 at Chicago, Cook, IL; d 19 Nov. 2001 at Denver, CO], daughter of Eward Larsen and Sally Thomlison of Norway, on 9 Jan. 1922 in Chicago. John and Esther moved to Denver ca. 1923–1924. When John registered for the WWII draft on 27 Apr. 1942, he was employed with the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Company.

  2. Robert “Bob” McLean [b 12 Sept. 1924 in CO; d 29 Oct. 2022 in CO], acrobat and co-inventor of the modern trampoline (with George Nissen).
